Chris Hemsworth recently posted a “photo dump” from a family vacation in Japan, filled with heartwarming moments. However, one image of his 11-year-old twin son sparked a heated debate among his followers.
When Chris Hemsworth isn’t playing the mighty Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he’s spending time with his family and embracing his role as a devoted father.
The 41-year-old actor, who had recently been in South Korea filming the second season of Limitless with Chris Hemsworth, took a well-earned break to enjoy a getaway with his wife, Elsa Pataky, and their three children: 12-year-old India Rose and 11-year-old twins, Sasha and Tristan. The vacation, which included everything from skiing in snowy mountains to exploring city streets and relaxing at a luxurious hotel, was shared with fans through a series of photos.
One of the highlights of his March 23 “photo dump” included a picture of the twins celebrating their birthday on March 18, complete with treats and candles. As soon as Chris posted the photos, fans filled the comments with positive messages, praising the actor for being such a hands-on father.
“Happy Birthday to you young little men,” one fan commented on Facebook. Another wrote on Instagram, “Gosh… can you just imagine being the son of THOR??” A third added, “Love this – keep being real. Love you and your entire family.”
However, while most of the images melted hearts, one photo stirred up controversy. In it, one of the twins is seen casually playing with a phone while cheekily flashing the middle finger at the camera.
This particular snapshot quickly gained traction, and fans took to the comments to voice their opinions. Some were critical of the boy’s behavior. “Bad manners in a young child, and parents are proud of it??” one fan wrote. Another commented, “Not so cute… let’s take a photo instead of correcting the behavior. What wonderful parents to condone this atrocious behavior at such a young age.” A third added, “Can’t understand why parents allow their kids to put the finger up. It’s not funny, just disrespectful.”
On the other hand, many defended the actor and saw the moment as a candid, unfiltered look into family life. “Y’all so mad over the middle finger and it’s so humorous lmfao,” one fan responded on Instagram. Another explained, “Giving the middle finger! Haha! We are still flipping each other off and he is 31! We laugh and have fun with it! It didn’t make him a bad teen, nor did it harm him in any way! He’s now a police officer. So, if you don’t want to do that with your family, then don’t.”
A third fan added, “The only thing I dislike instead, I hope they’re not raising little entitled brats…Not nice to show that attitude.”
However, not everyone was on board with this perspective. Some expressed disappointment, with one commenting, “Times have changed. The amount of people in here who think this is fine is quite honestly shocking to me. When I was a kid, if I’d done this, I’d have been in super deep trouble. It’s not about being offensive or being a boy, folks, it’s about respect for one’s elders.”
Regardless of the debate, it’s clear that Chris Hemsworth has a way of keeping his fans entertained—whether he’s saving the world or simply sharing family moments.
